Introduction

We are committed to providing you with a superior level of service, which includes protecting your privacy and ensuring compliance with the requirements of the National Privacy Principles 2001, and the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth).

To protect your privacy we have developed a policy about the collection, use, disclosure, quality of data and access to information that we hold.

Personal information collected may include your business name, personal name, telephone, fax and mobile numbers, email address, ABN, postal address, insurance details, body corporate details, preferred trades people details, bank details and so on to ensure we can provide a consistent quality of service to you.

 

Lessors

It is important to note, that once appointed as your Agent we are required to collect personal information to perform our obligations in accordance with the Management Agreement. We may also use this information collected to promote the services of the Agent and/or to seek potential clients. All information is collected by lawful and fair means.

 We may disclose this information to other parties including media organisations, on the Internet, to potential customers or clients of the agent (both existing and potential) trades people, body corporate government organisations, statuary bodies and to third parties as required by law.

 As your Agent we will only disclose information in this way to other parties as required to perform our duties under our Management Agreement or as otherwise allowed under the Privacy Act 1988.

 Real estate and tax laws, requires our agency to collect this Information. If the required information is not provided we may not be able to act effectively on our behalf.

 

Tenants

Our office is required to collect personal information from you to process and approve applications and to manage the tenancy. The information collected may be disclosed to the lessor, trades people, governments departments or bodies, tenant database registers, body corporates, strata managements, referees (real estate agents or lessors), tribunals, courts, insurance companies or other related third parties necessary to manage your property or as required at law.

 The information provided in the tenancy application is used for the purpose of determining if the applicant will be a suitable tenant. If your application is declined your details will be held on file for one month. Following this period all details held will be disposed of.

 

General

We take all reasonable precautions to ensure that the quality of our data including personal information we collect, use and disclose is accurate, complete and up to date. All computers are secured by access codes and filing cabinets are locked to protect data held within the office.

 You do have the right to access your personal information, subject to some exceptions allowed by law. If you would like to do so, please contact our office for further information. You will be required to submit your request in writing.

Should your details change at any time or you wish to correct your details, please contact our office.
